EMT Course

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to become valuable healthcare team members. The program focuses on giving direct care to patients as beginning EMS professionals in structured care settings. Graduates of the EMT program will be eligible to take the NREMT Cognitive Examination required for Certification as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT).

Prerequisites

# Candidates must be at least 16 years of age or older on the first day of class

# Hold a current AHA HeartCode BLS or Red Cross Certification

# Perform physical tasks as outlined by the  VDH Office of Emergency Medical Services 

# Provide proof of current vaccination status, flu ,and COVID-19 vaccines


Tuition

Tuition is $750, which includes your course study materials, eBook, and learning management system. 

A $100 nonrefundable deposit is required at the time of registration. This fee is applied to course administration, course development, and student resources. The remaining tuition is due on the first day of class.
